It's time to fire Mike Tice
Incompetence, underachieving, and pitiful, are just a few words that describe the performance of the Vikes in their first two games. Accountability rolls-upwards.
Since everyone (and their brother) in the Media have attacked President Bush for mistakes made during the Katrina recovery effort, shouldn't they attack Tice for Culpepper's mistakes, etc.? Or, should we leave Tice alone because, "he's a good guy."
I say it's time to fire Mike Tice because he should have NEVER been made the head coach in the first place. Admit it.
BTW - you'll soon be able to purchase "FireMikeTice.com" t-shirts and other paraphernalia.

Amen! We never should have let Moss and/or Linehan go - and cut that fumbler Bennett. Long live Les Steckel and Jerry Burns, but Tice you've got to go - even if you are one of the good guys.
I should be getting my Mossmask any day now.
Sincerely,
Mewelde Moore
Tice you are the worst coach I have ever seen in the NFL.Only you would trade Randy Moss and say you had a better team w/o him!Only a dumbass like you would beleive such nonsense. In closing I wish you well in your future at Wal-Mart!
He did break the alltime record for most stupid decisions in one season. He always knew how to waste timeouts too. It was a nice run. Maybe you can work for Ziggy Framing the new stadium that Randy built. I hope he can get by on the 4 million he made the last 4 years for being an idiot.
Hey Mike, Thanks for the memories. You were a pretty good O-line coach. I knew from the minute Randy was gone though, that you were DONE. Why do you think i elected to have surgery. Maybe we should give another washed up second rate coordinator a try. Wait maybe me and my Stanford degree could coach the team.
Sincerely,
Matt Birk
Daunte can go with him!
How about Ditka and Brad Johnson all the way to the Superbowl???
KR
I don't know what you bloggers are talking about I think that Mike Tice is the greastest coach in NFL history with the exception of myself of course.
Sincerely,
Mike "Tire Belly" Sherman
Who would win in a fight Mike Tice or 1,000 little Ditkas?
I kind of like Mike, especially the way he always wears that pencil on his ear. I wish I could have a chance to run that offense -I have no WRs in ATL. I'm going to be a gametime decision at Buffalo this week cause my hammy is killing me.
Yours truly,
Ron Mexico
When things aren't going well, it's easy to pile on the coach. If you want to blame somebody blame Red for being too cheap to re-hire Scott Linehan to a reasonable contract. The Vikings have the smallest and most under-paid coaching staff in the NFL. I agree that things are NOT looking good, but I support Coach Tice the benefit of the doubt because a lot has changed and he should be given until mid-season to be properly evaluated with the new personnel.
I'm out.
Ditka is getting a little old. so i think one full size Ditka and 100 mini-Ditka's should do the trick.
I have to comment on the idiot that posted as Matt Birk. Hey numbnuts, Matt Birk graduated from Harvard, not Stanford...HARVARD.
The fact that you post as Matt Birk and then can't even get facts about him straight is idiotic at best.
Oh, and this shall all go back to Red McCombs and his "promoting" of Tice rather than trying to committ to defense years ago by hiring TONY DUNGY.
Dungy? He's never won a damn thing. Gruden coached the same team Dungy had to a Superbowl victory.
Dungy ? Who posted that Sid ? Yeah thats a great idea. Lets bring back another MN loser who has never done anything. Look outside the box. The birk comment was sarcasm dumbass, meaning he's as dumb as tice. Hey maybe Bud Grants son can coach,or maybe Darrell Thompson, or maybe Greg Coleman, or Joe Sensor, yeah lets get a minnesota guy.
Well, Dungy has won 61% of his regular season games, was largely responsible for turning the Bucs from a joke into a consistently competitive team, and took a floundering Colts team to the playoffs three straight years. He hasn't won a Super Bowl--yet. He'd certainly have done more with the talent we've had in MN than Tice. Dungy took a team quarterbacked by Shaun King--SHAUN KING!--within a play of the Super Bowl.
But should we only hire people that have won a Super Bowl in the past? Winning a Super Bowl in the past doesn't equate to winning a Super Bowl in a new location (see Holmgren, see Siefert, see lots and lots of guys).
Personally, I'd rather see my mom out there coaching right now than Tice.
There was no apparent Sarcasm at all in the Birk post. Everything up until the Stanford comment was a bashing of Tice, so the person honestly had to be an idiot and thought Birk went to Stanford
Actually, it's just become painfully obvious that Cockpopper is just another black quarterback. Hello Akili Smith! Without Moss, Daunte is worthless. It's not the coach, it's the FO that F'd up this one. This team cannot and will not survive without Moss.
Just another black quarterback? Hello Akili Smith? Is Akili Smith the paradigm for black quarterbacks?
Let me list the black QB's that have had success, and yes one has won the Super Bowl.
Doug Williams (Super Bowl winner)
Warren Moon (no Super Bowl appearance, but a solid career)
Donovan McNabb (How many NFC Championships has he been in? That is right....alot...and he has been to a Super Bowl)
Michael Vick (I dont like him as a QB, but look what Atlanta couldn't do when he got hurt...he is still young and could be spectacular)
Randall Cunningham (he would have been in a Super Bowl if Gary Anderson wouldn't have "F'd" that one up)
Daunte Culpepper has been to a NFC Championship (yes he had Carter and Moss and yes they sucked in that game, I will admit)....last year he had possibly the second or third greatest year by a Quarterback in NFL History, and he did this while Moss was not 100% for most of the year and missed games.
Everyone one of you Culpepper bashers are the same....first you call for Todd Bouman, then Gus, and now will start with the Brad Johnson call.....why dont you all be real fans and support your QB who last year you couldn't stop praising!
They need to fire Tice and that stupid pencil behind his ear.
All of you Moss lovers need to get off the band-wagon. He may have been a good portion of the offense and he is a spectacular receiver, but that is it. He will never be on a championship team, see the Raiders. One superstar with a completely selfish attitude does not win a superbowl for you, see T.O. and the Eagles last year.
If you have a major distraction on your team, you will never have focus. Focus, determination and hard work wins championships, see New England. Name their superstar wide receiver, oh that's right, they don't have one. Three superbowls must have been a fluke, they didn't have a Randy "I play when I feel like it" Moss on their team.
I think most of the off-season moves were just what we needed as far as the players are concerned. The offensive coordinator change, re-hiring Tice, and letting the O-Line coach last this long into the season are the main reasons Daunte can't complete a pass to a Viking.
We obviously need to run a wishbone or I formation to put an additional blocker back there to give Daunte at least time for a three step drop. He put up tremendous numbers last year, with and without Moss. If he had protection and an offensive coordinator with more the Crackerjack credentials we would be praising the Vikings for another 4-0 start.
Maybe this is a good thing. Let's get all the bad stuff out of the way in the first 8 games and tear it up in the last 8 games and get to the playoffs with momentum for a change.
I can't believe I hyped myself up for the season and utter disappointment again. I was pretty much over this after the 1998 NFC Championship let down. Then I worked myself up for this, What was I thinking?

So much seperation has been created since the infamous Randy Moss trade. You're not just a Vikings fan anymore, but a "Moss Lover" or a "Vikings Fan." Can't we disagree with the organizations decisions? I mean watching Randy Moss help catapult our offense to levels such as being named The Most Prolific Offense in NFL History was extremely amazing to witness. Over 90 TD's in seven years?! Numbers don't lie, this guy was the main reason for our success. Our lack of coaching was equaled out when we had Randy on our team. Now that he is gone, we have been exposed as a completely lost team with terrible coaching. This was true with Randy, but much more obvious now that he is not a threat to the opposing team.
"Look at Oakland." Yeah, they are 1-3, very true. But look at Moss. His numbers and presence are still there. Look at the scores of the games... look at the teams they have played. They easily could be 4-0 if they had the coaching of the New England Patriots.
What I'm trying to stress to all, is that Randy has been without a true Head Coach since 1998. He has not had the defense on his team since 1998. If he could play for a team with a defense that was in the top ten... We all know what would happen. Randy Moss is an extreme competitor with undeniable talent. His comment "I play when I wanna" was taken out of context from an interview. They asked him if Cris Carter gets him pumped up and ready to play before games... and he replied "Naw, I play when I wanna play."
We traded Randy and signed Mike Tice to an additional year. There should be no discussion as to what the problem is with the Vikings. Bad decisions and bad coaching has put them where they are. This may sound drastic, but what if we traded Culpepper after last year and kept Moss? Just think of the players we could have gotten...
Who knows... maybe we'll go 1-15 and get Matt Leinart in the draft... then all will be well!
In conclusion, we're all Vikings fans. Some just wish we wouldn't have traded an NFL legend for a linebacker that should not even be starting.
GO VIKES!
Looks like Mike will probably resign if it gets any worse.
Zigi -
If you read any of this... Jimmie Johnson would probably be interested in anything you have to say!
At least there's no chance of us losing this week.
Daunte
I miss the good ol' days when we lit up every Sunday with Randy Moss.
When Moss pretended to moon the Packer fans last year in the playoffs, I thought that was the greatest thing ever! I hate the Pack, and that was thee perfect thing! Now, it's almost as if we like the Packers because we let Randy go for nothing.
It's our way of saying, "If you get DUI's, smoke weed and cheat on the test (whizanator), get arrested in gas stations, we want you on the Vikings! But if you diss the Packers... hit the road!
Daunte has been exposed as an average/below average quarterback, now that he doesn't have the greatest target receiver of his generation playing for him. Wake up Minnesota... we got screwed on a trade... AGAIN.
who cares about a team that has won 3 road games in the last 2+ years...this team seriously sucks
daunte is the greatest i dont care what anyone says. Yea hes having a REALLY bad year so what hes still great6"5 265lbs damn thats a big dude. One of the reasons the vikes let moss go was because he was causing trouble for the vikings bullshit cause look at the vikes now there getting in more trouble without him. Fire tice please we need a better coach.
Red sucked this team dry. Cheap coach, always way under the cap, traded Moss to make more money when he sold. Go Ziggy, do what needs to be done.
Hey Tice, where was the help for Smoot today? A little Adjustment to the defence pass your mind.
